Forthcoming re-issues via Vibe On Records?

Postby Jay » 20 May 2016, 21:13

This was posted on the Kylie fan forum SayHey:

I am from Vibe On.

We have an exciting list of reissues for 2016 including Kylie, among a host of others like Cher, Miami Sound Machine and Geri Halliwell.

http://www.sayhey.co.uk/forum/showthrea ... ost1991564

Vibe On specialise in "Expanded and deluxe pop music reissues", starting with some La Toya Jackson reissues: http://www.vibeonrecords.com/?page_id=26

Beyond that post, there's no further indications about Geri re-releases, but hopefully there will be more news on this soon! The La Toya re-issues look like they've had a lot of thought put into them, with unreleased tracks and remixes added to the original studio album track lists.

I vaguely remember a member on here posting that he works for a label (I *think* it was Demon?) and was trying to get the re-issues off the ground but couldn't get the licencing? I did a quick google search but couldn't find anything.

I hope someone remembers this too!

Didn't someone here say Geri herself stopped some kind of studio albums boxset from happening?

Imagine if each re issue included unreleased tracks from each album era. I'd be in heaven.

There is certainly lots of unreleased stuff from the Scream & Passion eras they could use.

Thank you! I must've assumed it was Demon, as it sounded very similar to the Bananarama re-issues they did a few years back.

Bananarama were involved with their re-issues, I believe.

I stand by this. That said, there is something else that can be done that wouldn't change the album but still make for an exciting release. That's all I'll say until anything can be officially announced.

Unless unreleased songs get put on the reissue, I really have no interest in a reissue of Schizophonic. The Scream and Passion eras are MUCH more interesting to me.

Perhaps a re-issue with the original album intact and a separate disc with rarities/remixes?
Or maybe just the original album with expanded/unreleased artwork.

Is there even any unreleased songs from schizophonic?

I might be recalling this wrong but I remember in her second(?) book she wrote about slowly venturing into recording and thinking the first song she recorded was decent but not revolutionary. I doubt that made the record or else she would've specified what song it was.

Great news! Even watching others items from Vibe on Records, I think that with Geri will be a disc (Schizophonic - Scream), b-sides from that disc and remixes released. For example

Disc 1: Schizophonic (10 tracks) + 3 bsides
Disc 2: 3 bsides + 10 remixes

Disc 1: Scream (12 tracks) + 2 bsides
Disc 2: 3 bsides + 11 remixes

Passion definetly has the most to offer in regards to exciting unreleased music as we know she recorded lots for the original Disco Sister album that got scrapped.

Remixes are fine with me, as long as they're not the exact same ones previously available on the commercial singles i.e. DJ-exclusive mixes or radio edits of remixes we already had. OR........commission new ones like for the Spice Girls Greatest Hits!!!!

Disc 1 - CD

1. Look At Me (Single Version)
2. Lift Me Up
3. Walkaway
4. Mi Chico Latino
5. Goodnight Kiss
6. Bag It Up
7. Sometime
8. Let Me Love You
9. Someone's Watching Over Me
10. You're In A Bubble (Alternate Version)
11. G.A.Y.
12. Summertime
13. Very Slowly
14. Live and Let Die
15. These Boots Are Made For Walking
16. Perhaps Perhaps Perhaps

17. Look At Me (Almighty 2016 Remix)
18. Mi Chico Latino (Jacques Lu Cont 2016 Remix)
19. Lift Me Up (Bimbo Jones 2016 Remix)
20. Bag It Up (Dave Aude 2016 Remix)
21. Walkaway (Almighty 2016 Remix)

Disc 2 - Music Videos DVD

1. Look At Me
2. Mi Chico Latino
3. Lift Me Up
4. Bag It Up
5. Goodnight Kiss (Much Music Performance)
6. Look At Me (TOTP Performance)
7. Mi Chico Latino (TOTP Performance)
8. Lift Me Up (TOTP Performance)
6. Bag It Up (Brit Awards Performance)
7. Schizophonic Promo Interview

Remixes play a big part in these type of re-issues though...if you think we're going to get the album + two discs of unreleased material then you'll be very disappointed.

I was thinking actually, with the news of these and the recent Steps release we've been lucky as a fan base (group & solo) that there's been no issue with getting their material in high quality. No dodgy vinyl rips of obscure tracks or remixes, they've all been put on CD-R promos etc.

The only thing that springs to mind is Goodbye (Orchestral Master), which I believe was on an in house CD but never leaked. Less familiar with the solo material though.

Disagree. I adore remixes. Its not that a song NEEEEEDS a remix, its just that a remix can give a song a whole new feeling. Well anyways I'm not trying to turn you on to mixes, just saying that there are people out there (me) that are thankful for all the mixes we have (group and solo) and am very eager for future mixes of new or old songs.

not all songs are written to be a "bop" ( Image at that cliched phrase), many are reworked into club mixes to find a different audience. For example Sarah McLachlan,s tracks usually work just as well as folky ballads and immense as house tracks. So to suggest remixes are unneeded is nothing more incredibly narrowminded pishtalk Image x

I would love for any new remixes included to be mixes of album tracks. You don't see that too often nowadays. Of course the singles too, especially Look At Me which never really got any great mixes. I'm really not expecting new mixes though, I'm sure they'd be reissues of old remixes... Hope I'm proven wrong though!
