I can see things from both sides of the argument. Although it kind of baffles me that people would spend money on something if they didn't really want it. I've bought it because I really wanted it & I liked '21', also I genuinely like Adele. If I didn't particularly like her there's no way I'd buy it, I wouldn't be driven to do so just because of hype or it being cool.

I dislike the word hype with Adele because for me hype is when something is being built up to be something it isn't. Rihanna is hyping her latest album with these rooms things but it remains to be seen if the music will live up to it. Gaga called Born this way the biggest album of the century, that is hype.

Adele's album is highly anticipated. She or her team haven't proclaimed it as anything bar just a hopefully great album.

The reason people like her so much is because she is honest, it is a nostalgic album, that is emotional, hopefully people will love it but she isn't claiming it to be the greatest album ever, it isn't about visuals that don't matter any way when you are streaming or putting the cd into a cd player (let's not forget she only filmed 2 music videos for her 30m selling album 21). She isn't telling people she has reinvented the wheel either.

As for not putting it on streaming sites, good for her, she obviously believes, and rightly so, that people are actually prepared to part with money for her music. Which again goes towards believing she has created a great album and worthy of being purchased.

They don't. I have never even bothered to listen to a Beyonce album let alone buy one despite the continual interest around her and her releases.

Agree 100%

I heard or read someone comparing Adele to some other Singer saying "She WANTS to be popular... Adele doesn't even try, she's just talented and doesn't have to pretend,"

3.4 million in the US
800,000 in the UK
210,000 in Australia
60,000 in Belgium
30,000 in New Zealand

that's at least 4.5 million in one week that doesn't include Canada, Asia, South America or the rest of Europe :Dizzy:

I personally love the album :inlove:

When we were young really pulls on my heartstrings the lyrics remind of when my granddad was dying last year, myself and two of my cousins were visiting him in hospital all the time and the song really reminded me of those visits as the three of us spent so much time together with my granddad when were younger going to stay with him in his caravan at the seaside. I bawled my eyes out the first time I heard it. Same with a million years ago.

That's what I love about Adele her songs are so heartfelt they really move me.

There is definitely hype around this release, let's not delude ourselves. I'm not saying that she doesn't deserve it, but as someone who is generally indifferent about her and don't go out of my way to be up to date on what she's doing I can't seem to turn on the computer/tv/radio without something about Adele popping up.

Either way, her music doesn't really touch me the way it seems to touch half of the world's population, but she seems like a nice girl and has a great voice, so good for her ;) I'll probably give the album a listen when it's on Spotify to see what all the fuss is about.

This is my revised track list of the album. The original order of songs bugged me lyric wise.

1. Hello
2. Can't Let Go
3. Water Under The Bridge
4. I Miss You
5. Love In The Dark
6. Send My Love To Your New Lover
7. River Lea
8. Million Years Ago
9. When We Were Young
10. All I Ask
11. Sweetest Devotion
12. Remedy
"Don't you break my heart. It's so plain to see that you should PM me.
Don't you break my heart. If these leaks should end I will never post again"

25 has also broken the sales record in Canada selling 261,000 albums in just over four days beating the record previously held by Celine Dion's Let's Talk About Love selling 230,000 in 1997.

PLUS:

Germany - 263,000
France - 169,000
New Zealand - 18,766 *record most albums in one week

It was virtually impossible to get tickets for her tour this morning. She's added extra dates.

ADELE's 25 has now sold over 10 million in just under a month!!

This week the album hit 2 million sales in the UK and 6 million in the USA!

As '19' sold over 7 million worldwide, it makes '25' Adele's 2nd best selling album behind '21' with sales of over 31 million.
