Shame it dropped so much, but I'm glad they got a new peak with the single lol

I agree with Jamie though its sad some of their best singles are near the bottom of that list

She looks like she blatantly can't be arsed.

Skip to 2.36 :p. It's a habit she's always had!

Haha, she looks out of place, as if she's had enough and is about to leave the stage..

Also, it's way too "in your face" the way she doesn't dance right at the beginning of the second chorus in 'Missing You', just because she had just finished with her verse.

It's a bit of a hollow victory though, especially how it nosedived throughout the week. I can see it falling to the lower end of the top 20 by next week.

Achieved a first week sale of 36,214 copies, which is their 5th highest first week. That's just 105 copies behind Rihanna at #6! However, they were 20,000 copies away from being #2 in the end.

The Music Week report also states that The Saturdays sold 2,349 CDs (which believe it or not made it the best selling physical of the week). Had they not released a CD single, they'd have actually still ended up at #7 on the strength of downloads alone - so effectively, having a CD single available didn't help out with their position.

~~~~~
First Week Sales
In blue are singles which were released fully in their first week on sale, i.e. all digital & physical formats. They were all also released prior to being included on an album.
In black are singles which spent a few weeks charting on downloads alone, before the single was eventually released fully. This is due to these songs already being available to download from an album - with the exception of 'Notorious', which was initially released as a download only.
68,922 [#03] All Fired Up
64,785 [#02] Just Can't Get Enough
57,157 [#03] Missing You
38,846 [#02] Forever Is Over
36,214 [#07] 30 Days
32,499 [#10] Higher
30,273 [#08] Notorious *
26,959 [#09] Ego
26,593 [#05] Up
23,643 [#06] Issues **
23,073 [#15] My Heart Takes Over
14,990 [#08] If This Is Love
14,902 [#22] Work
* Notorious first week was download only. In the full release week, they charted at #21 with 17,138 sold. It climbed higher the week after full release - #18 with 17,708 sales.
* Issues climbed to #6 after its first week of full release. However, it climbed to #4 the week after, with stronger sales of 28,719.
Thanks for all the info Jay!
For such a poorly received single by fans, the sales can't be said to be below par, when it's their 5th best selling first week!
Those physical sales are better than what I thought. I suppose when you put the Glasgow signing with that, it will have boosted it up a fair few copies.
I do hope they continue with the physical CD's, whether they be signed and/or unsigned (unlike a certain Miss Cole as of yet!)
I remember Una or Rochelle saying that they still believe in the physical CD, so that's why they still sell them.
Great sales, well deserved
I hope it can sell in the 150 - 200k range overall but we'll see.
I believe in the physical CD too! :$ Downloading mp3 files just can't compare, as a fan/collector. I'm annoyed Cheryl's not releasing one. :despise:
I still remember the shock and horror I experienced when mp3 sales took off and the CD single dwindled. It still makes me sad to go into a HMV and remember that once, there was a wall full of singles and slowly over time it's shrunk and shrunk until nothing remained.
Right? :( A whole wall stocked with the Top 40, a new releases section, and also a catalogue section full of old singles. I miss it!
OT: Looking at that list still makes me proud of how well 'All Fired Up' sold in its first week!
Shame that it didn't go on to sell at least 300k. I used to think its genericness would appeal to a lot of people outside their fanbase.
Hated how 'All Fired Up' basically died after two weeks. :( I thought it'd hold up well after a great first week and become one of their biggest sellers, if not the biggest... but it wasn't to be. 200k+ (I think it might be on 220,000 at a push) was quite a poor overall result for it.
I loved the All Fired Up campaign, there was such positivity around it and general interest. It did feel like it was going to be a big hit for them.
I also thought "All Fired Up" was going to be big for them. I remember how excited everyone was when it was released doing very well on itunes though it had some competition from Leona & Pixie and someone else (I think). I remember being very pleased when we found out it sold nearly 70k in its first week, it was sad the sales died down so quickly for it like Jay said though.
YES!
I remember walking into Woolworths in my town and buying at least one CD single per week!
I love the physical CD. A download seems so throwaway, whereas physically, it's a bit more 'special', even more so nowadays, as they are becoming non-existent!
since they've been using the "30 days" thing to make joke and contests on twitter, I can't wait to see how the song lasts '30 days' on the top100.
They always start promo like a month and a half before the single release, then once it's released, they're rarely seen and the hype goes.
I know that they've done TV, but their marketing's all wrong.
Their audience are never up at 7am watching DayBreak and they don't watch the Alan Titchmarsh show - just saying.
They need to rethink the times, the places and the platforms on which to go on.
