I am not a fan of Eurovision really - it's all 'fixed' in as much as countries don't always score on the song but on the country that is submitting it - far too political for a glitzy camp-fest.

Having said that, I don't mind Blue's entry and may even watch a bit of it this evening if there is nothing better on tv.

It's the first year Italy is back on eurovision, but I'm not watching...I don't like our guy, he's not even that famous here, they just picked him because he won an important music festival a few months ago.
Anyway, I don't really know how Eurovision works, but I guess Blue have a good chance to win this year..they're quite popular in Europe!

edit: ok, I couldn't resist, I'm watching it...and it's actually entertaining!

I don't understand why Sweden is doing so well. The lyrics are obnoxious. Azerbaidjan won with a shitty song made by Swedes but I can deal with that considering they've never won.

^ Aww, poor you!

I'm so freaking happy we made the top 3! And a Swedish song won - happy with that too!

I mean, Swedes are known for being shallow but "I wanna be popular, I want your body girl" took it to new levels. The thought of grown-up men working on those lyrics for God knows how long amuses me so.

The most overrated one was Italy however. Seriously. 2nd? Um... :Dizzy:

UK did well this year because of Blue, if it weren't them, they'd be last or somewhere near the bottom.

The problem is the neighbours, UK has none, even Ireland gave them only 6 points, you'd expect 12.

And another problem is that all songs are performed twice, and only 5 big countries perform once, that's also the huge problem with UK, i think if people heard the song twice, they would have a better score in the finals.

Plus, Blue barely promoted the song, they should have gone on a big european promo tour to promote it.

Azeribaijan? really? The song was good, but not THAT good.

I loved Ireland, United Kingdom, Romania and Estonia.

I think it's somewhere in the east, 'cause that's where they got most of their points from.

Italy taking 2nd place was a nice surprise, finally something different (and NOT that boring!) in Top 3! My faves were Sweden and Denmark.

I don't particulary like Jedward, but they deserved to win. Among all the songs and performances, theirs really stood out. Blue's song was the best, but vocally their performance was shit. And I loved Estonia, can't believe they didn't end up on a high position.

Well that was shit wasn't it. Each time Azerbaijan got 12 points and they cut to whoever it was that performed it I still couldn't remember how their song went . I quite liked the one with the sand drawer in the background. And the pointy hat guys. That was about it.

Sweden was so close, I'm really sad Eric didn't win it :( But Top 3 is really nice! :)
And my Serbia finished 14. I think we got little spoiled with every year finishing in top 10, now we have to cool down and reconsider what goes wrong... :x

Since when were Azerbaidjian , Armenia, israel or Turkey in Europe?

If Israel could be part of Eurovision why can't lebanon also participate?
